This position is for an L level Boeing Base Manager of a C-17 Field Services team at Abu Dhabi

airbase, in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.). This is a new C-17 field location opening in 2010.

Applicants must be willing to relocate to the U.A.E. This position is contingent upon Boeing signing a contract with the U.A.E. Air Force for the support of C-17 aircraft through the C-17 Globemaster Sustainment Partnership (GSP). The successful candidate will provide site activation and Field Services program management at Abu Dhabi, and serve as the on-location program representative to the U.A.E. Air Force and will report through the C17 Field Services Integrated Product Team. They will lead and integrate an international team of C-17 multi-discipline engineering, logistics, data management and support equipment and aircraft maintenance technicians in a remote field environment, and be responsible for supporting daily organizational and intermediate level sortie generation through scheduling, documentation, sustaining engineering airworthiness activities, support equipment maintenance and wholesale and retail spares support. Specific tasks include advising senior military officers and their designees to ensure delivery of high levels of customer service and satisfaction; work with government and civic leaders to promote Boeing’s interests in this region; monitor, report and execute budget and staffing plans; and develop and establish policies, organizational structures and report performance targets to Director and Executive Management. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in dealing with senior military (to include general officer level) and company officials; ability to work independently under time constraints and stress in an international environment; excellent communication and people skills; experience in supporting aircraft in a fast-paced sortie generation peacetime and contingency surge environment; familiarity with the Boeing and DOD supply systems and military maintenance practices and procedures. Requires proficiency working in a multi-disciplined environment, together with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Requires the ability to function in a demanding, on-call, around the clock operational environment and must be willing to travel. Secret security clearance preferred. Prior leadership and management experience a must, prior C-17 experience highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with 7 years’ management experience. Master’s degree preferred. Field experience supporting airlift highly desirable. Experience working with international customers a plus. Site activation and/or mission execution experience in a bare-base environment is a significant plus. Must be able to think out-of-the-box, yet execute to program objectives. Familiarity with the Arabic language and culture preferred. Security clearance preferred.
