Our client, a sports premium automotive car brand based in Abu Dhabi, has an immediate requirement for a highly focussed and professional automotive General Manager, with a key focus for the establishment, growth and general management of our clients’ car dealership, covering all sales, aftersales, marketing and services activities. The Role: • Full responsibility for a major sports premium brand, setting up the required organisational structure and overseeing the respective hiring and management of staff • Drive rapid commercial growth with the objective of ensuring a leadership position within target segments • Develop clear strategies for the brand, aligning those with corporate strategy • Interpret market demand, anticipating and driving necessary changes to product line -up and services in response to customer and manufacturer requirements • Build and maintain relationships with key third parties and partners (principles) • Develop and leverage relationships at all levels within the industry to ensure awareness of our clients’ automotive brand/franchise • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention Who we’re looking for • A highly commercial and sales driven passenger car General Manager, with a demonstrable track record leading the growth of a retail automotive franchise • Excellent command of Arabic and English • Aged between 35 -45 • Strong operational management exposure across all disciplines, with a focus on sales, aftersales, marketing and services • A well developed network of senior level relationships at regional office and manufacturer level • International exposure, ideally within the Middle East • Prior experience managing multiple automotive brands • Results orientated, with strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills • Persuasive leadership and motivational skills • Strong analytical and abstract reasoning skills • Confidence, credibility and influence to operate effectively at all levels, with natural relationship management skills • Dynamic and entrepreneurial, with personal drive • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Our client will not be considering Indian, Egyptian or Pakistani Nationals Note: We will only consider applicants with relevant automotive experience as a General Manager of a franchised car dealership in the GCC or with premium car brands experience from Europe. The FAM will have the responsibility for the day -day financial and administrative responsibilities of the Harley -Davidson Middle East & North Africa subsidiary. This will include responsibility for ensuring all financial transactions are processed timorously and all financial controls and integrity is maintained. FAM will also support the remainder of the MENA team on any relevant commercial issues requiring financial input. Key Results Areas: The role has dual responsibility which covers two main areas • 1) Day to day financial and administrative record -keeping and 2) financial and strategic support of the commercial functions within Middle East and Africa. To support the region achieving its goals by ensuring that the financial function is properly managed. This involves support of the Country Manager, District Manager, Dealer Development Manager, After Sales manager and Marketing Manager in carrying out their projects for the year. In addition to the commercial support provided by the business, the FAM will provide support to the CM and DM with annual pricing adjustments and the loading into SAP thereof. The role will also assist the CM with input into various subsidiary policies. In addition the role also has to frequently step out of the financial and administration area and assist the business where required e.g. assistance with rally organization, press bike fleet maintenance, etc. 1. Day -day financial and admin: – Cashbook maintenance in SAP – Reconciliations (Bank, General Ledger and AP) – Accounts payable maintenance (full cycle from PO • s to payment of suppliers to recon of suppliers) – Ad hoc dealer charges – H -D month end process for the 3 -4 days of each month as per International Fiscal timetable – Ensure all financial transactions are accurately and timorously captured – Responsible for meeting forecasting and planning deadlines of the organization – Expense claim management and review all company card transactions timorously – Work with cost center owners to ensure Quarterly forecasts are produced on time – Monthly invoicing to HDE – Maintaining the fixed asset register – Responsible to keep facilities spend within budget – Produce financial management reports as and when required – Ad hoc legal and secretarial duties – Insurance administration – Ordering of office supplies and management of supplier relationships 2. Support of the team and dealer network: – Support the dealer development process through evaluation of business plans and assisting new prospects with setting business plans as required by the Dealer Development Manager – Support the District Manager with incentive payouts, variable margin payouts and demo discount payouts – Support the After Sales Manager with warranty claims and payouts of after sales promotions and incentives – Support the Marketing Manager with advice on launch and tactical budgets; as well as the regular and accurate update of the COV press fleet SIV and insurance – The FAM will also be monitoring the MENA enquiries email inbox and relaying all incoming information to the relevant team members – visit dealers to provide financial analysis and consulting services as and when required by team members – Participate with the MENA team in the development and implementation of key plans and initiatives in the market place – Support new dealer on -boarding through making sure dealers have term sheets, correct invoicing details. 3. Third party relationships: – Banks – Insurance brokers – Managing relationship with company appointed auditors – Sourcing and liaising with suppliers as well as managing that all supplier transactions are processed on time and reconciled. 4.
